Alimentary Traceability

Traceability is based on the detection of all types of ingredients and possible alimentary contaminants. Traceability is required for legal and commercial reasons, as our customers require us to ensure that traceability.

In case of any alimentary alert, offers the possibility to know the origin and the circuit of the products, through a traceability system can increase the ability to accurately determine the potential scope of the problem, facilitate the recovery and withdrawal of parties concerned, establish responsibility for any incident among consumers and, ultimately, reduce the negative economic impact on members of the marketing chain.

Traceability is a chain starting at the primary producer and finishing with the final producer. This chain serves to explain, what products are incorporated into an alimentary in any part of the process, and serves to define the responsibilities of all involved.

Every link in this chain consists of three parts:

  • The data that incorporates our supplier
  • Our internal data processing
  • Customer data

All datas in this chain should be consistent with one another, for the traceability would be real, and for possiblity to track and restore the research.

Current legislation does not say which datas have to save or how long to do it, because the regulatory authorities have not clear yet many aspects, and they wait, that the market, which is the real expert, define it. However, at the time of a crisis or alimentary alert, the authorities will require documentation of the product traceability to the parties that have participated in the alimentary preparation, and the responsibility will fall on those, who have not been well documented traceability.

Computer systems can identify, capture, store, transmit and manage all information that is required to ensure traceability.
